CLAYTON, Mo. (CN) - NFL Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk and hip-hop star Nelly are among a group of investors who defaulted on a $318,000 promissory note, Bremen Bank and Trust claims in St. Louis County Court.
Bremen Bank claims lead defendant North Meramec Investors owes it $317,718.39 for the note. It claims Faulk, Cornell Hayes aka Nelly, N. Scott Rosenblum and Carrie Campbell fka Carrie Dunne are limited guarantors for North Meramec. Rosenblum is a prominent St. Louis area defense attorney.
Truman Bank sued Faulk, Hayes, Rosenblum and Campbell in March 2012, in the same court. Truman Bank claimed they owed more than $2 million for a promissory note. Former NBA player Darius Miles was also part of that group, known as Third Street Investors.
Faulk, a member of the St. Louis Rams 1999 Super Bowl championship team, is the only player in NFL history with 12,000 yards rushing and 6,000 yards receiving. He was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2011.
Haynes's debut album, "Country Grammar," hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts in 2000 and sold 8.4 million copies. He won Grammy awards in 2003 and 2004 and had a supporting role in the 2005 remake of "The Longest Yard."
