Bank Manager Embezzled $700,000

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (CN) - A branch manager for Sound Federal Savings and Loan pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $700,000 from customers, federal prosecutors said. Milagros Rodriguez continued embezzling after Hudson City Savings Bank bought Sound Federal.

Rodriguez, 40, of Garnersville, N.Y., faces up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to twice the amount she embezzled at her Dec. 18 sentencing. She stole the money from April 2002 through March this year.
