Baker Says ‘Nazook’ Maker Pulled a Fast One on Name

HAYWARD, Calif. (CN) - Best Express Foods demands that Eurobake Corp.'s "Nazook" trademark for Armenian sweet bread be canceled. Best Express says Eurobake falsely claimed that the word is "a personal name with no English translation," but it's a generic word for Armenian sweet bread, and Armenians and Armenian-Americans know it.

Best Express says Eurobake persuaded the California Secretary of State to issue it a "Nazook" trademark under false pretenses. It is represented in Alameda County Court by Peter Brewer of Palo Alto.
