FRESNO, Calif. — Former Bakersfield police Det. Damacio Diaz – portrayed in the Disney film “McFarland USA” – was sentenced to five years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to bribery, possession and intent to distribute 9 lbs. of meth and a tax charge.
