Back Surgery Patient Gets $2.3 Million

CLAYTON, Mo. - A St. Louis County jury awarded $2.3 million to a Battlefield, Mo. man for a failed back surgery. Keith T. Haley, 40, claimed Dr. Kevin Rutz and Orthopedic Associates were negligent and that he hasn't been able to work and has suffered constant pain ever since.

Haley, formerly a UPS driver, takes six pain medications a day and four more as needed, court papers state. The jury awarded an additional $175,000 to Haley's wife.

The Haleys were represented by Steve Garner.

Battlefield is 230 miles southwest of St. Louis.
