DETROIT – The inventor of a prototype universal chassis claims in federal court that BMW used its patented design, without a license, to manufacture the i8 hybrid sports car.

The plaintiff is Theodore & Associates LLC, and the defendants are BMW of North America LLC and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG.
