Joe Kelly

Joe Kelly is a writer and reporter based in Milwaukee. He has covered Wisconsin's courts, government, elections and other areas of state and local intrigue for Courthouse News since 2018. Born in Springfield, Illinois, and raised in Milwaukee, Kelly graduated from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 2013, then went on to earn an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of New Orleans in 2018. He previously interned for UWM's literary journal, Cream City Review, and freelanced for Urban Milwaukee and Gambit, a New Orleans alternative weekly.
