(CN) - A Houston-area judge dismissed a paralegal's sexual harassment allegations against her former boss, trial attorney Richard N. Laminack, saying the plaintiff failed to offer any evidence to survive Laminack's motion for partial summary judgment.
In July 2008, paralegal Angela Robinson sued her former boss in Harris County Court, saying he is known for his legendary trysts and voracious sexual appetite. She claimed he routinely demanded sexual favors, seduced male and female employees, once offered her $15,000 to jet to Vegas with him and split a hotel room, and suggested that Robinson perform oral sex on an expert witness in order to put him in a better mood for testifying.
Robinson claimed Laminack told her to work whatever hours it took "to get the job done," but failed to pay her more than $27,500 in overtime.
Laminack and his firms denied the allegations and moved to dismiss all but the wage claims.
Harris County District Judge Tracy E. Christopher granted their motion, saying Robinson's response "fails to raise any issues to defeat the motions."
"I have always had faith in the system and knew that the facts would speak for themselves," Laminack said of the ruling. "This has certainly been a long and painful process for all of us to go through."
Defendants included Laminack's current firm, Laminack, Pirtle & Martines, and his previous firm, O'Quinn, Laminack & Pirtle.
