Attorney Says Bogus Charities Bilked Old Lady Of $80,000

FORT WAYNE, IND. (CN) - Nine bogus charities defrauded an 84-year-old woman of $80,000 by bullying her into giving them credit card and electronic banking information and charging her accounts without her knowledge or consent, the woman's attorney claims in Allen County Court.

Defendants, operating out of Arizona, exchanged information about her, knowing she was a vulnerable old person, falsely claimed to be 501(c)3 organizations, and called her despite knowing she was on the National Do Not Call list, and refuse to return the money they stole, attorney Charles McNagny claims. He demands punitive damages from Americans with Disabilities, Arizona Center of Faith, Future America for Disadvantaged Workers, Handi-Tech Helping Hands for the Disadvantaged, U.S. Vet Workshop, U.S. Blind Services, Helping Hands of Hope, I-Glo Workshop, and USDW Inc.
