SEATTLE — A federal court in Washington sanctioned attorney Jocelyn Stewart $3,000 for conduct arising from a nurse’s complaint alleging a company sold her nootropic supplement kits that contained amphetamines, causing her to lose her position after taking a routine military drug screening. The attorney used ChatGPT and Claude to prepare her submissions to the court, resulting in dozens of false citations, and clearly did not meaningfully review the work because it contained obvious errors and undermined experts’ independent findings.
