MANHATTAN – A month after the Second Circuit affirmed the drug and weapons convictions of Joshua Stegemann, a New York appeals court dealt a blow to various Massachusetts officials he accuses of civil rights violations.

The ruling denies waivers to two Massachusetts attorneys representing the defendants that would let them practice before New York courts despite not maintaining an office in the state, as required by Section 470 of Judiciary Law.

Stegemann additionally wanted the court to void all the work performed by the attorneys in the case, but the panel found such relief unnecessary.
