AT&T Must Dish Out $22 Million

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (CN) - AT&T will pay $21.67 million for mistakes Illinois Bell made 8 years ago in distributing $90 million in refunds to business customers. Madison County Circuit Judge Daniel Stack ruled that 680,683 business customers never got the refunds they deserved.

Class members will get a $21.20 credit per line.

One-third of the judgment, more than $7 million, will go to attorneys' fees.

Attorneys spent more than 3,000 hours on the case, Judge Stack wrote. So the attorneys will earn in the range of $2,400 an hour.
