Art Student Says His High School|Doesn’t Understand The Constitution

MADISON, WISC. (CN) - Tomah High School violated a student's constitutional rights by giving him an F for a drawing in art class because it contained a biblical reference, and by prohibiting him from making a cross in his art metals class, the student claims in Federal Court. He claims school officials told him he had "signed away his First Amendment rights" by agreeing to abide by school policies that prohibit "creating artwork that depicts any kind of 'violence, blood, sexual connotations, [or] religious beliefs'".
