MANHATTAN (CN) - Art dealer Sam Green says the movie "Savage Grace" defamed him by portraying him in a ménage a trois with plastics heiress Barbara Baekeland, who allegedly had an incestuous relationship with her son, Tony, who murdered her in 1972.
Sam Green acknowledged to reporters that he had an affair with the mom, but denied ever going to bed with the son.
The 2007 movie, starring Julianne Moore, depicts Baekeland having sex with her son in an attempt to "cure" him of homosexuality. The movie includes a ménage a trios scene with the Baekelands and Green characters. Barbara Baekeland was an heiress to the Bakelite plastics fortune.
According to media reports, Tony stabbed his mother to death in London in 1972, served 8 years in a mental hospital, then moved to Manhattan, where he stabbed his grandmother, who survived. He killed himself in Rikers Island prison.
The movie got generally negative reviews, including one that called its characters "lamentable."
Sam Green and The Landmarks Foundation accuse these defendants of defamation: Cablevision Systems Corp., Rainbow Media Holdings, Killer Films, IFC Films, and Lace Curtain Productions. He is represented by Brian Egan with Egan & Golden, in New York County Court.
