Arizona Paper Sues Punk Rock Band on Cover Photo

TUCSON (CN) - The Arizona Daily Star claims the five members of the punk band "Awful Truth" violated copyright by using the newspaper's photo of two Tucson police officers kneeling over the body of a dead comrade as cover art on the CD, "Kill a Cop for God."

The Star sued David Stine, Aaron Pillsbury, Damon Pillsbury, James Rapp, and Nick Freytag in Federal Court. The photo showed Tucson PD Officer Erik Hite, who was shot in the line of duty on June 1, 2008, and died the next day.
