Arizona Appeals Court

FAMILY LAW - Diana H., whose child was adjudicated dependent, claimed that she retained the right to prohibit state-directed immunization of her child based on her religious beliefs. J. Eckerstrom found that a dependency determination does not transfer a parent's right to control their child's religious upbringing to the state, and the state failed to articulate an interest compelling enough to overcome Diana's right.
