Apple Sued Over Touch-Screen Products

SAN JOSE (CN) - Apple computers violates two touch-screen patents in its iBook, iPod, iPhone and MacBook, Elan Microelectronics claims in Federal Court. Elan, of Taiwan, says its own SmartPad, eFinger and eStylus products use the patents at issue, a "multiple finger contact sensing method for emulating mouse buttons and mouse operations on a touch sensor pad," and a "capacitative touchpad integrated with key and handwriting functions."

Elan is represented by Sean DeBruine with Alston & Bird of Palo Alto.
