Apple prevails in suit over actor’s vaccine status

LOS ANGELES — An appeals court in California ruled in favor of Apple Studios, which was sued after it passed over actor Brent Sexton because he refused to get the Covid-19 vaccine ahead of a role in Manhunt. The lower court denied Apple’s anti-SLAPP motion on the actor’s invasion of privacy, disability discrimination and related claims, but should not have found Apple had no “compelling” interest in mandatory vaccination.
