Antitrust Regulators Block Electronics Merger

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (CN) - Federal antitrust regulators want to block Microsemi Corp.'s acquisition of Semicoa, claiming it will reduce competition and increase costs of high reliability electronic components used in aerospace and the military.

The complaint mentions small signal transistors and diodes.

Microsemi, based in Irvine, Calif., reported $514 million in sales in fiscal year 2008.

Semicoa, based in Costa Mesa, Calif., reported $15 million in U.S. sales.
