Antitrust Conspiracy Alleged In|Taiwanese After-Market Auto Lights

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Genera Corp. conspired with five other corporations to fix prices for after-market automobile lighting products imported from Taiwan, to squeeze out a competitor who refused to accede to the price-fixing, Sabry Lee Inc. claims in a federal antitrust complaint.

City of Industry-based Sabry Lee sued Genera Corp., Maxzone Vehicle Lighting Corp., E-Lite Automotive, Tyc Brother Industrial Co., Depo Auto Parts Industrial Co., and Eagle Eyes Traffic Industrial Co. The first three defendants are based in California, the last three in Taiwan.

Sabry Lee accuses them of conspiring to fix prices below cost to eliminate it as a competitor, "as retribution for plaintiff's unwillingness to abide an agreement among defendants to fix high and arbitrary prices on aftermarket lighting products imported from Taiwan and sold in the United States."

"Defendants effectuated their illegal scheme by entering into and carrying out an agreement to lower prices on those lighting products sold by plaintiff while raising prices above competitive levels on lighting products on which plaintiff is not a competitor," the complaint states.

Sabry Lee demands treble damages and an injunction. It is represented by Maxwell Blecher with Blecher & Collins.
