BOSTON — Harvard’s effort to dismiss a civil rights lawsuit was thwarted in the face of allegations brought by a Jewish alumnus and a student organization, who say the university did not adequately respond to harassment and discrimination allegedly experienced by Jewish and Israeli students and enacted by students protesting the genocide of Palestinians. The school must face breach of contract claims as well, which relate to students’ alleged interference with classmates’ ability to participate in class and ordinary college activities.
