Another Legal Problem for Floyd Mayweather

LAS VEGAS (CN) - Floyd Mayweather's bodyguard choked a nightclub bouncer when the man carded the boxer and his entourage as they tried to enter the club, the bouncer claims in Clark County Court. It's the sixth lawsuit against the professional fighter.

Clay Gerling claims Mayweather's unknown bodyguard grabbed and choked him on Jan. 2 for asking Mayweather and his party for identification before they could enter Drai's Wild Bill's Gambling Hall and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

Gerling says he suffers with permanent head and neck injuries in the attack, along with "severe emotional distress."

In January, Mayweather was sued by a security guard for the golf community where he lives for allegedly assaulting the man for asking Mayweather to present his ID before entering the gated community.

In July 2010, Mayweather was sued for $62,000 in rent for commercial space that houses his production company.

In December 2009, fellow boxer Manny Pacquaio accused Mayweather and others of defamation for accusing him of using steroids. A federal judge has ruled that the defamation case could continue.

In September 2009, Mayweather was hit with two lawsuits, one for allegedly failing to pay for legal services, and another for failing to make monthly payments on a 2007 Mercedes Maybach 57S.

Mayweather, 32, has won nine world titles in five weight classes. He is 41-0 as a professional fighter, with 25 knockouts. He placed ninth in the fifth season of the TV show "Dancing with the Stars."

Named as defendants in the most recent lawsuit, along with Mayweather, are his companies the Floyd Mayweather Foundation, Mayweather Promotions, Floyd Joy Inc. and Philthy Rich Records.

Gerling seeks medical expenses, compensation for lost earnings, and damages for assault and battery.
