Another Complaint Against Floyd Mayweather

LAS VEGAS (CN) - Floyd Mayweather Jr. faces his seventh civil lawsuit in 3 years, from two men who say someone in the boxer's entourage fired a gun at them while they drove away from a skating rink in August 2009. They also claim that Mayweather and his posse have threatened them since the shooting.

Quincey Williams and Damien Bland claim that Ocie Shomari Harris, "while in the scope of ... employment with defendant Floyd Mayweather Jr.," fired at least six shots at them as they drove away after an altercation in which Mayweather's men "threatened" their lives.

Harris has been indicted by a grand jury on six counts, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and firing a weapon into a car, according to the complaint in Clark County Court.

It's the latest in a string of legal scuffles for the boxer.

In June, a man claimed Mayweather's bodyguards beat him up for simply asking the boxer about an upcoming fight.

In January, a security guard at the golf community where Mayweather lives claims the fighter assaulted him for asking him to show ID before entering the gated community.

In July 2010, Mayweather was sued for $62,000 in allegedly unpaid rent for commercial space that houses his production company.

In December 2009, fellow boxer Manny Pacquaio claimed Mayweather defamed him by accusing him of using steroids. A federal judge has ruled that the defamation case could continue.

In September 2009, Mayweather was hit with two lawsuits, one for allegedly failing to pay for legal services, and another that claimed he failed to make monthly payments on a 2007 Mercedes Maybach 57S.

Mayweather also faces charges of felony coercion, grand larceny and robbery, and misdemeanor domestic battery and harassment, after his ex-girlfriend accused him of beating her up and stealing her cell phone during a fight in front of their three children.

Mayweather is out on bail; if convicted, he could face up to 34 years in state prison.

Mayweather has won nine world titles in five weight classes. He is 41-0 as a professional fighter, with 25 knockouts.

He placed ninth in the fifth season of the TV reality show, "Dancing with the Stars."

Also named as defendants in the most recent lawsuit, along with Mayweather, are Jackie Ray Jones, and Mayweather's promotion companies, Pretty Boy Enterprises and Mayweather Promotions.

The plaintiffs seek damages for assault and battery.
