Ankle monitor amputation

CHICAGO — A federal court in Illinois allowed some of a man’s excessive force, failure to intervene and other claims against officials from the Cook County sheriff’s office who applied an ankle monitor so tightly that the man’s leg had to be amputated. He did not sufficiently plead that intentionally over-tightening ankle bands is a widespread practice for the county, though.
