Angelyne Claims L.A. Lost Her Fan Mail

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Angelyne the billboard queen claims the Los Angeles Redevelopment Agency cost her $500,000 by failing to live up to its promise to forward her fan mail after making her move from her Hollywood apartment. Angel Lynn aka Angelyne, a sometime model and actress, is best known for gracing self-promotional billboards around Hollywood since the '80s.

She was in the movie "Earth Girls Are Easy," where she can be spotted cruising around L.A. in a pink Corvette, pink Maltese at her side.

Angelyne ran for governor in California's 2003 recall election, and racked up 2,533 votes.

Angelyne says that in May 2008 the city paid her $89,000 to vacate her Hollywood apartment, as part of a huge relocation project. She says the city promised to make "commercially reasonable efforts" to forward her mail.

But Angelyne says the city's failure to do this has interfered in the "maintenance and upkeep of her persona, fan club, maintenance as a public figure," and has cost her $500,000 in lost fan club memorabilia sales.

Angelyne sued the Community Redevelopment Agency for the City of Los Angeles, Legacy Partners, Hollywood & Vine, and HEI/GC Hollywood & Vine Project in Superior Court.

She is represented by Gary Roach of Ventura.
