Amusement Park Guard Pepper Sprayed|Little Girl And Boy, Their Dad Says

DENVER (CN) - A security guard at an amusement park pepper sprayed an entire family, including a 9-year-old girl and her 12-year-old brother, after fabricating complaints that the children had bumped someone on Go-Karts, the kids' father says.

The father is a naturalized citizen who was born in Iran. Both kids are natural-born U.S. citizens. The dad says he took his kids to Fish 'N Farm's amusement park at Heritage Square in Denver, where security is provided by co-defendant Veterans Security Group.

Nadali Atefi claims a security guard told him that he and his kids would have to leave because the guard had received complaints from other customers that the Atefi kids had been bumping their Go-Karts.

Atefi, who had been watching the Go-Karts, denied it, and asked how a customer could complain, as none of the Go-Karts had stopped. He claims the guard told him the bumping had been recorded on videotape, but that there was no such tape.

Atefi says security guard Jason Tapp eventually pepper-sprayed him and his two children, and another kid who happened to be there, and that Tapp mocked his accent, falsely claimed that he was drunk, and had him falsely arrested and maliciously prosecuted. Atefi says he and his daughter required medical treatment for the pepper spray.

He demands punitive damages for battery, ethnic intimidation, negligence, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, and other charges. He is represented in Denver County Court by Gary Clexton with Miller & Stejert of Littleton.
