American Family Insurance Called Racist

OMAHA (CN) - American Family Insurance Group charges blacks and other minorities more for homeowners insurance than it charges white people, and uses credit scoring rather than risk to discriminate, a class-action complaint claims in Federal Court. And it claims American Family does this despite a $14.5 million settlement it paid the NAACP to settle a racial-discrimination lawsuit in 1995. See complaint.
