American Bar Association faces scholarship suit

CHICAGO — A federal court in Illinois allowed a race-discrimination complaint to proceed against the American Bar Association over a scholarship fund. The American Alliance for Equal Rights plausibly alleged white applicants were barred from competing for the scholarships and the group has standing through a member who was ready to apply but would have been ineligible under the criteria.
