Acting on complaints that Amazon favors its own products on its marketplace platform, Austria’s Federal Competition Authority announced Thursday that it is probing the online retailer for unfair trade practices.

BERLIN — Acting on complaints that Amazon favors its own products on its marketplace platform, Austria’s Federal Competition Authority announced Thursday that it is probing the online retailer for unfair trade practices.

The investigation will look into, among other things, the justification for drops in some sellers’ product rankings and terminated seller accounts.
