Alzheimer’s Community

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, N.J. – A federal court in New Jersey granted summary judgment in favor of the developer of community residences that claims it was wrongfully denied permits to build a facility for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.  

The court finds that a 2015 rule governing such facilities seems to discriminate by making “overprotective assumptions about the needs of handicapped people.”
