Alternatives and Fees Are|Part of New 401k Rules

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Labor Department's Employee Benefits Security Administration will require disclosure of certain plan and investment-related information to participants and beneficiaries in participant-directed individual account plans, such as 401k plans, effective Dec. 20.

The plan and investment-related information to be disclosed includes fee and expense information.

The EBSA states that this regulation is intended to ensure that all participants and beneficiaries in participant-directed individual account plans have the information they need to make informed decisions about the management of their individual accounts and the investment of their retirement savings.
