An almond tree with brown leaves may be dying from a lethal Central American bacterium called Xylella fastidiosa. The tree is in a field near Alcalalí, a town in the province of Alicante, Spain. The lethal Xylella fastidiosa bacterium is killing almond trees in this part of Spain. The bacterium is considered one of the most dangerous threats to Europe's crops.
