Allstate Alleges Chiropractic Racketeering

DALLAS (CN) - Allstate Insurance claims 60 chiropractors, chiropractic offices and PR firms, working with attorneys, use telemarketing to fraudulently solicit "patients" who have been in auto collisions, offer them "a free initial examination if they accept an appointment," then subject them to "a set course of unnecessary treatment."

The chiropractors then refer the patients to "particular law offices associated with the Defendants' Enterprise," according to the suit. The chiropractors then bill insurers for unneeded treatment, through the law offices, Allstate claims in a federal racketeering complaint.
