Allstate Accused Of Rigging Medical Claims

BROOKLYN (CN) - A doctor has accusedAllstate Insurance of conspiring with a long list of defendants "to procure fraudulent medical reports" in order to deny medical coverage to policyholders, according to his federal complaint.

He allegest that the insurer alsomade it clear that if its co-conspirators did not provide the fraudulent reports, "then Allstate would not use their IME services."

Plaintiff John McGee says Allstate reported record profits of $35.8 billion in FY 2006, and that one reason for this was that "Allstate's auto loss ratio decreased by 3.8 points in 2006. Allstate's [earnings] increases were due to higher premiums earned in Allstate brand and lower claim frequency."

McGee is represented by Bruce Rosenberg of Bellmore, N.Y.
