Alaska Cop Isn’t Liable |For Deadly Bear Hug

ANCHORAGE (CN) - An Alaska police officer who restrained a drunk, uncooperative man by grabbing him in a "bear hug" and wrestling him to the ground is not responsible for the resulting injuries that led to the man's death, the Alaska Supreme Court ruled. It granted Officer Bryan Jones immunity from an excessive-force claim filed by Albert Sheldon's relatives and estate.
