Alarming Claims Against Denver Attorney

DENVER (CN) - A Denver attorney took advantage of a client by making her have sex with him and one of his wives while he taped it, the woman claims in Denver County Court.

Jane Doe sued Charles L. Fife, his current practice Fife Luneau P.C., two of his previous law firms, his current partner and two previous law partners, on Oct. 28.

She seeks damages for legal malpractice, unpaid wages, breach of fiduciary duty, extreme and outrageous conduct, and violations of the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act.

Doe says she sought legal help from Fife for a DUI charge when he was a partner at Fife, Mangnall & Mossinghoff. When she faced with another criminal charge later, she says, her relationship with Fife turned into something strange.

"Plaintiff, who was broke, facing criminal charges and who would otherwise be homeless, allowed Fife to record her, under duress, performing sexual acts with and for Fife," the lawsuit states. "Because of her mental and financial condition, and because of the power differential between plaintiff and Fife, plaintiff was incapable of entering into a consensual relationship with Fife.

"Plaintiff thereafter engaged in sexual acts with Fife in exchange for legal services.

"Most of the sexual acts occurred at Fife's office, generally on his brown leather couch as well as at the apartment Fife supplied for plaintiff," the complaint states.

Then it got bizarre, Does claims. She says Fife told her to insert "clear glass or acrylic phalluses" into her genitals, filmed themselves having sex and told her to have sex with another of Fife's clients who told her "she was one of Fife's wives."

The complaint states: "Fife spends so much time and effort recording the sexual exploitation of his clients and other women that he has compiled a hard drive containing over 30,000 electronic pornographic images and videos comprising nearly 1 terabyte of digital space.

"Many of those thousands of images and videos depict women performing various and occasionally obscene sex acts in Fife's office."

Doe claims that Fife told her he was a polygamist and that their relationship was fine because it "was commanded by God."

Finally, Doe says, Fife hired her as an investigator for his law office, but never paid her. In fact, when she went to Fife's office in August to ask for her wages, she "came into possession of electronic files that she believed to be Fife's recordings of her and Fife's sexual acts," according to the complaint.

It continues: "Plaintiff later discovered that the files also included images and videos of numerous other women - some of whom were Fife's clients - performing various sexual acts with and for Fife. Many of the images were taken in Fife's office. Some of the images were labeled as being taken by Fife's wife."

Doe seeks actual, treble and statutory damage for negligence, professional negligence, unpaid wages, breach of fiduciary duty, extreme and outrageous conduct, conspiracy, and violations of the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act.

She is represented by Jerome Reinan in Denver.

Fife's firm's website says he has expertise in DUI claims, criminal law, consensual sex charges, sex crimes and sexting law.
