SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - Two security screeners at San Francisco International Airport were arrested Friday and charged with taking bribes and conspiring to smuggle drugs, federal prosecutors said.
Transportation Security Administration screeners Claudio Rene Sunux, 30, of San Francisco, and Amanda Lopez, 27, of South San Francisco, took bribes to let Anibal Giovanni Ramirez, 28, of San Francisco, smuggle "pounds of methamphetamine" through the airport, the U.S. Attorney said in a statement.
Ramirez also is charged in the indictment, with bribery and conspiracy to smuggle drugs.
They face 10 years to life in prison and fines of up to $10 million.
