Aircraft Safety

WASHINGTON (CN) - Owners and operators of certain Airbus, Avidyne, BAE Systems, Boeing, Bombardier, Cessna, GE Co. or Pratt & Whitney airplanes or engines are to address safety issues, according to planned FAA regulations.

Certain Boeing 737s are to have cracking checked more often, so the main door does not fly off.

The Collision Avoidance System display of certain Airbus models A318 through A321 is to be changed to prevent mid-air collisions.

Because breakage of landing gear components may tear up the plane, BAE Jetstream 4101 owners are to retire them early.

Certain Pratt & Whitney turbofan engines are to be inspected for cracking so the blades stay on during flight.
