Aircraft Safety

WASHINGTON (CN) - Icing conditions may cause certain Hawker Beechcraft airplanes to lose control, so the Federal Aviation Administration has grounded them when ice is expected.

The tubing that brings deicing solution to the tail on these models may collapse when the new climate control system turns on in the cabin. So, tubing of a different material must be installed before the planes are allowed to fly in ice again, and within 24 hours of flight time or three months, whichever occurs first. Click here for details and other new regulations and notices including ten proposed FAA regulations covering problems with blades flying off of planes, engines stopping, and doors, landing gear and engines falling off in flight.
