CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. — A federal court in New York found in favor of the owner of a 1930 Brunner-Winkle Bird aircraft on the negligence claims brought by a seasoned aircraft mechanic whose arm was almost severed while hand-propping the engine. By his own admission, there was nothing the owner, who was operating the aircraft at the time, could have done differently to prevent the accident.
