Adjuster Says Farmers Doesn’t Play Fair

OKLAHOMA CITY (CN) - Farmers Insurance fired a longtime adjuster for objecting that its new "Colossus" program is designed to cheat policyholders by lowballing claims, she claims in Federal Court. She claims her boss told her "that if they got caught and were sued for bad faith that it would not be that big of a deal because anything under $3 million was a win for Farmers."

Maira Isabel Moreno-Hoetker claims this systematic lowballing didn't happen until Farmers instituted its Colossus program.

She demands punitive damages for retaliatory firing, tortious interference with contract, and emotional distress. She is represented by Woodrow Glass of Norman, Okla.
