Adelphia Victims Can Get Some Money Back

MANHATTAN (CN) - Victims of the Adelphia securities frauds can apply to the $700 million Adelphia Victims Fund to recover some of their losses, federal prosecutors said. Information, forms and filing instructions are available at www. AdelphiaFund. com. The deadline to apply is July 16.

John Rigas and Timothy Rigas were sentenced to 15 years and 20 years in prison for their crimes and ordered to disgorge their ill-gotten gains; they will be resentenced on May 7.

Administrators of the victims fund will recommend a pro rata distribution of money, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Information also is available from the Special Master's hot line, 1-866-446-4884.
