(CN) – Congressman Alan Grayson stiffed an advertiser for $20,000 after it helped him win his seat in Florida in November 2008, the firm says. North Woods Advertising claims Grayson promised it a $20,000 bonus if he won, then refused to pay up.
North Woods claims Grayson, a Democrat who now represents Florida’s 8th District, also violated an exclusivity agreement. It seeks $70,000 in damages plus interests and costs from Grayson and his campaign committee. It is represented in Hennepin County Court, Minneapolis, by Natalie Lund of St. Paul.
