Accused Border Patrol Killer Extradited

SAN DIEGO (CN) - Mexico on Thursday extradited to the United States a man charged with the first-degree murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, who was shot to death in 2010 outside of Nogales, Ariz.

Ivan Soto-Barraza, who was extradited Thursday, is one of six charged in the case. Two have pleaded guilty and two are awaiting trial.

Soto and the others are charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, attempted interference with commerce by robbery, using and carrying a firearm during a crime of violence and assault on a federal officer.

In addition to murdering Terry, they are charged with assaulting Patrol Agents William Castano, Gabriel Fragoza, and Timothy Keller, who were with Terry during the firefight.

Manuel Osorio-Arellanes pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Jesus Rosario Favela-Astorga and Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes are fugitives.
