Accountant Embezzled $3.6 Million

HOUSTON (CN) - An accounting supervisor pleaded guilty Monday to embezzling $3.6 million from Keneka Texas, the U.S. subsidiary of a Japanese chemicals company. Diana Simon, 49, of Sugar Land, began stealing the money in June 2006 and spent it on a house, cars, jewelry and gambling trips. She faces up to 20 years in prison at her Jan. 25 sentencing, federal prosecutors said.
