PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CN) - A man who was hurt in a bloody freeway accident claims an EMT technician stole his foot and took it home with her to "use in training her cadaver dog."
Karl Lambert lost the lower part of his left leg in a Sept. 29, 2008 accident on Interstate 95, he says in his complaint in St. Lucie County Court.
Lambert claims that defendant Cynthia Economou, a firefighter paramedic, "removed the leg rather than delivering it to the hospital where the leg could have been reattached, taking it to the fire department and then to her home for use in training her cadaver dog."
Lambert sued Economou and the St. Lucie County Fire District, for theft of his foot, negligence and outrage.
He is represented by Jack Platt of Melbourne, Fla.
