Abusive Sheriff’s Own Deputies Call Him|’The Boob Bandit,’ Two Alleged Victims Say

E. ST. LOUIS (CN) - Pulaski County Sheriff Randy Kern's sexual misconduct while armed and on duty is so well known that his deputies and city police officers "send out text alerts via their cell phones to various females in the area informing them that 'the boob bandit' was out in their area and to be on the lookout," two of the sheriff's alleged victims claim in Federal Court.

One plaintiff says Kern sexually harassed her at work when she was a reserve deputy, and drove to her home to sexually paw and proposition her, in the presence of her teen-age daughter.

The other woman claims that Kern, while armed and on duty, drove to the service station she runs with her husband, grabbed her breast and propositioned her for sex "while (her husband) is gone."

She says she complained to Pulaski County State's Attorney Grayson Giles, who blew off her complaint.

The women demand punitive damages for sexual harassment, assault, battery, and civil rights violations. They are represented by Kristen Glasford with Rhode & Jackson of Carbondale.
