Abortion in the UK

LONDON — An appeals court in the U.K. affirmed dismissal of the lawsuit brought by citizens with Down syndrome, who say a statute permitting abortions for fetuses who would be “seriously handicapped” upon birth licenses discrimination. Parliament legislated that the decision to abort a fetus based on early testing for predictable developmental conditions is a mother’s right.
