AUSTIN, Texas — Former state lawmaker Wendy Davis and a group that provides financial support to abortion patients are suing three private citizens who have threatened abortion funds with lawsuits under a Texas law that bans abortions after about six weeks of pregnancy. The suit also names Texas State Representative Briscoe Cain as a defendant for allegedly sending cease-and-desist letters to and making statements that the funds and their donors, employees, and volunteers are subject to prosecution.
