ABC Accused Of Swiping Idea For TV Show

HOUSTON (CN) - The American Broadcasting Company is developing a sci-fi drama TV series called "Section 8," based on a Houston company's soon-to-be released video game without the company's permission, TimeGate Studios claims in Federal Court. Buena Vista Games, a subsidiary of ABC's corporate parent Walt Disney Co., began meeting with TimeGate in 2005 for purposes of marketing the "Section 8" video game, but ended negotiations, then stole the trademark three years later for the proposed TV show, TimeGate says.
